What are trigger words?
They are words that trigger a reaction from your audience.
In one of our projects, we discovered the word “must” has a much stronger impact on users than the word “should”.
Users felt that “should” implies it is “the correct thing to do”, however, if I don’t do it, I can “beg for forgiveness later”.
“Must”, on the other hand, meant they had to do it. And if they didn’t do it, they would lose whatever they were entitled to. So if you want to get these users to take an action, you need to say “must” and not “should”.
Isn’t that interesting?
Below is a listing of some trigger words. Do you know how to use them to get the reaction you want?
