Iomega’s new 1GB microdrive
June 1st, 2001Iomega has just launched its new 1GB Microdrive miniature hard drive. The new drive brings increased capacity, improved low-power operation and improved shock tolerance to the Microdrive storage solutions available to Iomega customers.Iomega’s Microdrive line is based on IBM’s leading hard drive technology and is the world’s smallest hard drive for digital cameras, laptops, audio players and consumer handheld devices.
With Microdrive storage, large files such as photos, presentations and digital audio files can be easily and inexpensively captured, saved and shared. Fast transfer speeds and easy plug-and-play operation between compatible devices give the Microdrive an added edge.
The new 1GB drive will retail at S$899. For those who need less storage, a 340MB version is available at S$449. Both will be available at the end of June at authorized Iomega resellers.
An optional Type II PC Card adapter is available for an additional S$19. As a bonus, Iomega will bundle the 1GB Microdrive with Iomega’s QuikSyncTM software for automatic on-the-fly backup.
