3Com’s new switches deliver intelligent networking
August 21st, 20013Com has released three new switches to make intelligent networking a reality. The new switches are all high-performance Fast Ethernet switches that focus on scalability and affordability.
SuperStack 3 Switch 4300
Targetted at the price conscious, 3Com sees the 4300 as providing affordable connectivity with an attractive price-to-value ratio. According to 3Com, the 4300 has the lowest cost-per-port in its class.
It is a 48-port switch and reliable expansion capabilities. With the 4 Gigabit uplink option, it can support all your high-speed connection needs.
Another noteworthy feature is the ease of use and set up for this switch.
SuperStack 3 Switch 4400
The 4400 is a switch for wireless application-aware solutions that allows you to take control of your networking needs.
With the layer 4 functionality, you can prioritise applications and thereby eliminate bottlenecks and improve network efficiency.
For those with larger networks, you can stack the 4400. According to 3Com, you can stack the 4400 up to eight units high and connect them up to 200 ports. They can them be managed easily as a single entity.
Such resilient stacking also means less fretting over downtime.
Switch 4005
The 4005 is 3Com’s high-performance switch. To serve companies with growing network needs, the 4005 focuses on scalability with its feature-rich Layer 3 switching in a modular 14 slot chassis.
The Layer 3 switching functionality also allows you to meet all your core networking requirements, while its redundant architecture will virtually provide 100% uptime.
