Should all requirements be implemented?
In all the web projects we’ve handled, requirements are never implemented 100%.
Instead, they are prioritised according to their level of importance. The most important are implemented first.
When prioritising requirements, we look at:
- Is the requirement critical to achieving the business goals?
- How much time and money will be spent on this requirement?
- Is there a faster/cheaper way of achieving the same result?
Prioritising requirements well depends on the combined experience of everyone in the team. The more experienced your business users, project managers, programmers and solution architects, the better the end result.
